Kurt Valenta will lead demonstrations and hands-on activities that explore the geological past of Vermont’s Champlain Basin: from the fossils found at the Chazy Reef in Isle La Motte to the sand dunes of Alburgh and the remnants of shoreline and whales left behind by Lake Vermont. Participants will get a better understanding of Vermont’s interesting past written in its landscape. Location: Latham Library Community Room. Best for school aged children, teens, and families. This event is part of the Thetford Libraries’ “Oceans of Possibilities” summer reading program.
