Spring Equinox/Full Moon concert at the Peabody Library!
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 20, when “Jakeza” returns to the Peabody Library in Post Mills to play Celtic, French and original music with accordions, hammered dulcimer and vocals. This musical duo is a collaboration of two seasoned musicians, one from Quebec and the other from Vermont, who offer tightly-woven duets, rhythmic punch, and the serendipity that comes from many years of experience. Since their concert at the library last year, these two have traveled the shores of the lower St. Lawrence playing street music on the docks and in small festivals. They appeared at Le Coeur de Village Coffeehouse outside of Montreal, at Burlington’s Rosé Wine Festival and in area farmers’ markets in the Upper Valley. They are enthused about sharing their growing repertoire of French folk mazurkas, bourrées and waltzes, Irish airs and songs, original music and occasional oldie singalong ballads.
If you come to this concert, you will hear music in the acoustically beautiful, historic library building donated to the town of Post Mills by philanthropist George Peabody at the time of the Civil War. Recent renovations and careful oversight of the original Greek revival structure make a visit to the library a rich experience indeed.

Join Janet Taylor of Crossroad Farm for her annual spring gardening workshop at the Peabody Library in Post Mills. This year, Janet’s talk will focus on gardening success with vegetables. All are welcome.

Out on a Limb – “from Hank to Hendrix” – acoustic music across the traditions, from the Upper Valley’s most-elusive band.
As a school teacher and librarian, Gail Martin has been teaching origami for about 20 years. Her current goal is to teach origami in every library in Vermont! This year, as well as some cool and easy models such as coyote, heart and sailboat, she will be teaching a rocket ship. If the group is comfortable with folding paper, she also have an intermediate five-pointed star to fold. Her goal is to keep it fun and encourage people to enjoy a new craft!
