Your gift will help make our library accessible to the entire community
Thetford Library Federation is installing a lift-style elevator that will connect the main floor of Latham Memorial Library to our beautiful, newly renovated Community Room and youth spaces on the lower floor. This new addition to our building will help ensure that all members of our community can access our library’s many resources.
And we need your help to complete this critical project. The Thetford Library Federation has received a conditional grant from the Vermont Arts Council that will match the first $25,000 raised by our community. To receive the matching grant, the community must then raise the remaining funds to complete the project, currently estimated at $100,000 total.
Can you help us meet our goal to complete fundraising by June 30 and ensure our library is an inclusive place for our entire community?

This summer (exact dates TBD), Latham Library will be closed for the installation of the lift. We will offer additional hours at Peabody Library in Post Mills:

Tues 2:00-5:00
Wed 10:00-7:00
Thur 2:00-5:00
Fri 10:00-5:00

Our new fiction and non-fiction items will be available at Peabody, along with Peabody’s excellent selection of adult and children’s materials, and public wifi.
You may continue to place holds and request items from Latham, but there may be a slight delay as the librarians will wait for the construction crew to finish work for the day before retrieving items. We will notify you when your requests are ready for pickup. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services will also continue.
Feel free to contact the librarians with any questions.
