In Celebration of Birds and Insects
Come to Peabody Library in Post Mills, Vermont, for an evening of Renaissance music played by The Early Byrds from Seven Stars Arts Center, coached by Chris Rua, featuring works by William Byrd (c.1540-1623) and his contemporaries. Songs about ants, grasshoppers, owls, nightingales and other pleasures of spring, plus more serious pieces by Byrd. Peter and Thelma Thompson, Mary Ann Haagen, Cyndy Crawford and Wayne Cripps play recorders ranging from soprano to contrabass; Dan Meerson on viola da gamba; Chris Rua on recorders and Renaissance drum. We may read some poems and sing a few songs as well. Admission by donation.
