Carol McGranaghan of Orange, VT, will give a presentation and slideshow about wild plants, how they were traditionally used by the Abenaki as food, medicine, and in making items and how they can be used today. She will talk about the Abenaki as the original inhabitants of N’Dakinna (Vermont) and a bit about land acknowledgment and rematriation. Carol will have copies of her Elder/Mentor Carol Irons’ book “Vermont Abenakis: A Brief History of the People of the Dawnland, Vermont’s First Inhabitants” for sale for $6 each. The presentation will also include a question and answer session and samples of wild plant foods.
