Our next meeting will take place at 7 pm on Tuesday September 23rd at the Latham Library on Thetford Hill.   We will continue our discussion of “The Guns of August”, Barbara Tuchman’s study of the events leading up to, and the beginning of Word War 1 – a topical subject this year.   Last night’s discussion was vigorous and interesting, as one participant had read the book  twice, even though most of the rest of us hadn’t even got half way through yet.   The book can be obtained from your local library, through interlibrary loan, from your favorite local bookstore, or online throughwww.bookfinder.com, the aggregate site for booksellers, which includes both independent booksellers and the usual chains.
