Our next meeting will take place at Latham Library on Thetford Hill on Tuesday December 17th at 7 pm.    We will be discussing “My Family and Other Animals” by Gerald Durrell.

He was the zoologist younger brother of Lawrence Durrell, the well-known novelist and author of the Alexandria Quartet, and the book describes the period his family spent living on the island of Corfu, his unusual education and various adventures.    Since this is a a short month ( we didn’t want to meet during Christmas week, for obvious reasons) we decided on a book which is easy to read and extremely funny – very suitable for the holiday season.

As usual, the book may be obtainable from your local library, via interlibrary loan, from your favorite local bookstore or via www.bookfinder.com, the aggregator site which includes both new and secondhand books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Abebooks and many independent bookstores and bookdealers.
