Are you confused about recycling? Come hear from a local solid waste district staff person to find out what goes where in your household recycling bin or at the transfer station. He’ll cover everyday items from yogurt containers to batteries and more.
Andy Scherer is the Recycling and Outreach Coordinator for the Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste Management District. He works with municipalities, schools, businesses and households to divert waste from landfills and coordinates the district’s recycling, hazardous waste, and composting programs. Prior to working with the solid waste district, he has been involved in sustainable agriculture and education. He can likely be convinced to answer some questions about composting, too!
