Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday March 25th at 7 pm in the Latham Library on Thetford Hill.We will be discussing “A Lady’s Life in the Rocky Mountains” by Isabella Bird.  Ms Bird originally visited America as a young woman of 22 because travel was supposed to be good for her poor health.   She apparently felt so much better that she spent most of the rest of her life travelling alone and having adventures in what were then far corners of the world.   The letters which she wrote home became the books she published, many of which were bestsellers in their day.
